Motorcycle Safety

AAA’s Maine Motorcycle Safety Education Course is an 8 hour classroom training course that satisfies the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicle requirement for obtaining a motorcycle permit. The course consists of group teaching, videos, and the use of a demonstration motorcycle for class review. Upon completion of the 8 hours of instruction students must successfully pass a 50 question multiple choice test. Successful completion is defined by achieving an 80% or higher score. Upon successful completion of the course students will be issued a Maine State Certificate of Completion. To obtain a motorcycle permit students will need to visit their local Bureau of Motor Vehicle office and submit their certificate of completion along with a $10.00 permit fee. Workbooks are included with the cost of class. Students should bring a pencil and highlighter to class.

Prepaid students will receive a $5.00 discount on the tuition. Class size is limited to 24 students. You will be required to prepay if the class fills to capacity. The course fee will be refunded if the student requests the refund 2 business days prior to the class. Students can reschedule before the day of class to another class that is still open without forfeiting their prepaid tuition. Students who do not show up for the scheduled class will not be refunded and will be required to pay full tuition to attend a future course. .
