Frequently Asked Battery Questions
Q. Why do batteries fail?
A. The life expectancy of the average vehicle battery is three to four years. Key factors that affect a battery’s performance are age, vibration, poor maintenance and extreme temperature.
Q. How do I know if I need a new battery?
A. Some of the potential symptoms of a failing battery are the motor turns over slowly when starting the vehicle, clicking noises when turning the key or the interior lights start to dim. However, it is more difficult to identify symptoms of failing batteries in today’s automobile. The best way to determine if your battery is failing is to have the entire battery and electrical system tested by a trained mechanic.
Q. What should I know before purchasing a new battery?
A. First, it is necessary to install the proper battery size and rating based on your manufacturer’s specifications. A battery that does not meet those specifications could fail much faster and could cause other electrical components to perform less than optimal. Second, the freshness of the battery is critical. The performance and life of the battery will be affected if a battery remains unused for an extended period of time.
AAA Battery Service is provided by independent service providers and is only available in select areas during select hours. AAA batteries and battery warranties are provided by Club Assist U.S. LLC. AAA batteries are available for most vehicle makes and models. Copies of the warranties are available for inspection from the technician at any time upon request.
